Kick-off of the Odoo ERP Project for Hacaseafood – Tackling the Complex ERP Challenges in the Seafood Industry

Can Tho, October 08, 2019, GMO-Z.com RUNSYSTEM and Hacaseafood officially kicked off the implementation of the Odoo Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to enhance management capabilities and establish processes for the chain of operations from farming, harvesting to processing and exporting seafood, with real-time, consistent, and transparent data provided for Hacaseafood.

The kickoff ceremony was attended by Mr. Pham Dao Lam – Project Director representing GMO-Z.com RUNSYSTEM, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Phuong – General Director of Hacaseafood, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai – Deputy General Director of Hacaseafood, along with project team members from both sides.

Surpassing strong competitors, including major companies with ERP implementation experience in the seafood industry such as FPT, CMC, etc., GMO-Z.com RUNSYSTEM with the Odoo ERP solution gained Hacaseafood’s trust due to its economic advantages and the flexible “open” nature of the solution. According to the agreement, GMO-Z.com RUNSYSTEM will implement the Odoo ERP Enterprise 12 solution across all factories, warehouses, storage facilities, and over 40 hectares of farming areas for Hacaseafood. Odoo ERP Enterprise 12 is an “open” solution that, in addition to meeting all management needs and operations on a single platform, allows for expansion, customization, and the development of additional functions specific to Hacaseafood’s aquaculture industry.

The unique values that Odoo ERP Enterprise 12 brings will help Hacaseafood build a centralized enterprise resource management system with real-time, consistent, and transparent data across business operations. The system also enhances management capabilities and establishes processes for the chain of operations from farming to harvesting, processing, and exporting seafood, aiming to increase competitiveness and export value.

According to the agreement, BizConnex – the Enterprise Solutions division of GMO-Z.com RUNSYSTEM – will be responsible for building and developing the ERP solution for Hacaseafood, including modules for Customer Management, Sales, Purchasing, Inventory, Production, Quality Management, Accounting, Invoicing, and Farming Area Management. The project is expected to be implemented over 8 months (from 08/10/2019 to 08/06/2020).

Having experienced many operational difficulties, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Phuong – General Director of Hacaseafood hopes the Odoo ERP solution will help solve the major problem of remotely managing diverse product lines and making faster decisions. Previously, it took months to obtain financial reports and inventory status, and the information was not necessarily accurate in real-time. Product cost determination was often based on routine practices. Hacaseafood also previously used accounting software for sales and inventory management, but this software was “quite outdated and lacked security, not providing real-time or synchronized data across departments.”
