Deputy General Director of GMO-Z.com RUNSYSTEM, Mr. Nguyễn Tấn Minh, stated that the company plans to officially launch the RingBOT smart lock product in November 2019, targeting primarily construction companies and management boards of high-end apartment buildings with high security and safety requirements.
Originating from the reality that welcoming guests to households in many high-rise apartments remains inconvenient and challenging in terms of managing entry-exit data and ensuring building security and safety, GMO-Z.com RUNSYSTEM has recently researched, developed, and is expected to soon introduce the RingBOT smart lock product to the market.
As an IoT (Internet of Things) smart lock solution, RingBOT makes building security more convenient and easier through enabling lobby or basement-to-elevator access with a single device and one action, eliminating the need to install video intercom devices in every apartment.
According to GMO-Z.com RUNSYSTEM’s representative, RingBOT consists of two components: the SmartLock device and a mobile application. The smart lock device integrates with the building’s entrance system. It features a keypad, camera, and microphone so that visitors can directly call the homeowner or the building reception by entering the apartment number, establishing a direct connection similar to a phone call. The resident or receptionist can then simply press a button to open the entrance via the mobile app.
With the mobile app installed on smartphones of residents or receptionists, communication and control of the smart lock system become possible.
“One of the main functions of RingBOT is video calling the resident or receptionist from the RingBOT device to the smartphone application. The homeowner can choose to deny or approve access by interacting with the app. In addition, RingBOT stores guest video calls within the timeframe defined by the building’s management. The storage duration depends entirely on the management’s requirements and server capacity,” said GMO-Z.com RUNSYSTEM’s representative.
GMO-Z.com RUNSYSTEM’s IoT-enabled RingBOT smart lock solution is expected to bring many benefits to users, such as: convenience for both residents and visitors to easily open the lobby door; any household member can open the door via the app; free video calling support; and centralized management of building access with quick, simple retrieval of entry-exit information. Additionally, RingBOT can be customized according to specific usage requirements.
Advantages of RingBOT compared to existing smart lock products include: same-day installation, compatibility with various door types, no need to install devices in each apartment, and over 50% cost savings compared to traditional installation. Setup is simple, requiring just one device per entrance. Furthermore, as RingBOT operates over the Internet, doors can be opened from anywhere with an Internet connection, and software updates can be done remotely.
Speaking with ICTnews about commercialization plans, Mr. Nguyễn Tấn Minh – Deputy General Director of GMO-Z.com RUNSYSTEM – shared that RingBOT is currently being introduced and offered at several high-end apartment complexes in Vietnam, meeting both building security and user convenience needs while reducing management difficulties.
RingBOT is scheduled to be officially deployed by GMO-Z.com RUNSYSTEM in November 2019, with primary customers being construction companies and management boards of premium apartment buildings requiring high security.
“Japan is a highly promising market for deploying technology-driven solutions that enhance convenience and ensure security for users. RingBOT has already been introduced and has attracted interest from many Japanese customers.
The product is currently being further refined and adjusted to meet Japanese market standards. After testing in Vietnam, 2020 is expected to be the year RingBOT makes a strong and deeper entry into this potential market,” added Mr. Nguyễn Tấn Minh.
