Kick off the project "Chip-Embedded Citizen Identity Verification - SmartKYC.eID" for SinoPac Bank (HCM).

Chip-embedded citizen identity verification is an important project for BSP, implemented according to Scheme 06/CP of the Ministry of Public Security and the State Bank of Vietnam. This scheme, issued on March 24, 2023, focuses on the development of applications related to population data, identification, and electronic verification to support national digital transformation from 2022 to 2025, with a vision toward 2030 in the banking sector.

With its technological advantages and experience in implementing SmartKYC.eID, GMO is honored to be selected as the partner to provide and integrate the chip-embedded citizen identity verification solution at the counter for BSP. This solution will help BSP quickly access and ensure the accuracy and integrity of customer information, contributing to the proper implementation of the Prime Minister's policies.

In addition, the project of BSP and GMO also aims to achieve other objectives such as:

- Quickly and accurately identifying customer identities at the counter.
- Streamlining the loan processing procedures for safety and efficiency.
- Enhancing the effectiveness of counterfeit crime prevention and contributing to the reduction of "black credit."
- Providing services promptly, avoiding mistakes and saving time in information declaration.
- Ensuring the security and safety of customer information during the processing phase.

The chip-embedded citizen identity verification project - SmartKYC.eID at the transaction counter of SinoPac Bank - Ho Chi Minh City branch is currently in the implementation phase and is expected to be completed and ready for use around May 2024.
