Kick-off of the Odoo ERP Project for Hacaseafood – Tackling the Complex ERP Challenges in the Seafood Industry

Can Tho, October 8, 2019, GMO-Z.com RUNSYSTEM and Hacaseafood officially launched the implementation project of the Odoo Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to enhance management capacity and build processes for the entire value chain from farming, harvesting to processing and exporting seafood, with data provided in real-time, consistent and transparent for Hacaseafood.

Attending the kick-off ceremony were Mr. Pham Dao Lam – Project Director representing GMO-Z.com RUNSYSTEM, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Phuong – General Director of Hacaseafood, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai – Deputy General Director of Hacaseafood, along with members of the project teams from both sides.

Surpassing strong competitors such as FPT, CMC,… who have experience implementing ERP software for the seafood industry, GMO-Z.com RUNSYSTEM with the Odoo ERP solution won Hacaseafood’s trust thanks to its economic advantage and the flexible “open” nature of the solution. According to the agreement, GMO-Z.com RUNSYSTEM will implement the Odoo ERP Enterprise 12 solution for all factories, warehouses, storage facilities, and over 40 hectares of farming areas of Hacaseafood. Odoo ERP Enterprise 12 is an “open” solution that, in addition to meeting all management needs and operations on a single platform, also allows for expansion, customization, and building of additional functions specific to the aquaculture industry of Hacaseafood.

The distinctive values that Odoo ERP Enterprise 12 brings will help Hacaseafood build a centralized enterprise resource planning system with data that provides real-time, consistent, and transparent production and business operations. The system also helps Hacaseafood enhance management capacity and build processes for the value chain activities from farming – harvesting to processing and exporting seafood, thereby improving competitiveness and increasing export value.

According to the agreement between the two parties, BizConnex – the Business Solutions division of GMO-Z.com RUNSYSTEM – will be responsible for building and developing the ERP solution for Hacaseafood with modules including: Customer Management, Sales, Purchasing, Inventory, Production, Quality Management, Accounting, Invoicing, and Farming Management. The project is expected to be implemented within 8 months (from October 8, 2019 to June 8, 2020).

Having experienced many challenges in running the company, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Phuong – General Director of Hacaseafood expects the Odoo ERP solution to help Hacaseafood solve the major problem of managing diverse products remotely and making decisions more quickly. Previously, the company took months to generate financial reports and inventory status, and even then, the information was not guaranteed to be accurate in real-time. Cost determination was also based only on estimation. Hacaseafood had also used accounting software to manage sales and inventory, but it was “quite outdated, lacked security, was not real-time, and did not synchronize data among departments.”
