At the Vietnam Digital Awards (VDA) 2021, SmartOCR - an AI-powered text recognition and data extraction solution developed by GMO-Z.com RUNSYSTEM, was recognized in the category of Outstanding Digital Product and Solution, surpassing more than 300 nominations from organizations nationwide.
SmartOCR is the first “Make in Vietnam” solution capable of recognizing Vietnamese handwriting, in addition to English and Japanese, with over 97% accuracy. By applying artificial intelligence, SmartOCR allows businesses to automate data entry, flexibly extract information based on custom needs, and digitize various types of documents such as contracts, invoices, land use certificates, financial statements, and registration forms.
The solution has been successfully implemented across multiple industries, including banking, finance, insurance, and BPO, helping organizations reduce 50%-80% of time and operational costs. Following the award ceremony, SmartOCR received numerous inquiries and demo requests from financial institutions, underscoring the strong market interest in this AI-powered Vietnamese innovation. Previously, SmartOCR and other solutions in the company’s “One-stop Solutions” ecosystem, including SmartKYC, SmartRPA, SmartStore, and SmartGift - were also named among the Top 10 Outstanding IT Enterprises in Digital Transformation Solutions 2021, organized by VINASA.
