On October 15, the “GMO-Z.com RUNSYSTEM BADMINTON CHAMPIONSHIP – Fall 2017” was successfully held at Quang Trung High School. With their utmost fighting spirit, the players delivered thrilling and high-level matches that truly captivated the audience.
Following the success of the GMO-Z.com RUNSYSTEM Open Badminton Championship 2017 held in May, this tournament once again received great support from both employees and the company’s leadership. Fourteen outstanding players from different teams and groups within the company gathered at the “GMO-Z.com RUNSYSTEM BADMINTON CHAMPIONSHIP – Fall 2017” to compete fiercely, bringing the audience exciting clashes and spectacular rallies.
The tournament was organized with the aim of creating a healthy playground for Runners, fostering team-building among departments and groups, encouraging the spirit of sports training among colleagues, and, in particular, celebrating the upcoming Vietnamese Women’s Day on October 20.
The players competed in both familiar formats: singles and doubles. The tournament was not only exciting but also highly intense. In the doubles category, the match between the pair Tran Tuan Dat (TC) – Le Thi Thu (QC) and Vu Tien Cong (BrSE) – Tran Hung Thong (BSD) drew special attention. At first glance, the Dat – Thu pair, with Thu (QC) being the petite “little pepper,” seemed disadvantaged when facing the all-male duo Cong – Thong, who had the upper hand in both physique and strength. However, Tuan Dat and Le Thu delivered an outstanding performance and defeated their opponents 31 – 28 to claim the doubles championship. The crowd was electrified by the thrilling rallies and fiery atmosphere. The singles matches also brought equally captivating performances, especially the final between Tran Tuan Dat (TC) and Vu Tien Cong (BrSE). The experience and tactical play of both competitors made the match unpredictable, with tense score chases keeping the audience on the edge of their seats. In the end, Tuan Dat (TC) triumphed with a final score of 21 – 10, securing the singles crown. This turned out to be a golden season for Tran Tuan Dat (TC), as he swept both championship titles in singles and doubles.
