Officially launched in April 2023 with 15 members, V4 is a project focused on public administrative services for a Japanese client. After just 10 months, the project’s workforce grew 12-fold, prompting Sub PM Vu Anh Chien to exclaim: “Even though I’m only managing half of the team in Hanoi, I’m truly overwhelmed and pressured by the project’s scale.” As of now, the development team has reached 180 members, operating across four branches: Hanoi, Hue, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, and the subsidiary in Tokyo, Japan.
As the largest-scale project GMO-Z.com RUNSYSTEM has ever implemented, the project management team faced numerous challenges. The rapid increase in team size within a short time and the involvement of multiple departments made communication the greatest challenge. “It’s the first time managing a project with such a large team size, so neither I nor other Sub PMs had any case studies to refer to. As a result, we had to figure things out on the go and adjust constantly to ensure smooth operations,” shared Nguyen Gia Hoang Vinh, the PM of the Ho Chi Minh City branch.
The development team also consistently strives to improve their work and communication skills with the client. Especially for clients unfamiliar with working with outsourcing teams, this is critically important to ensure mutual understanding and achieve the highest project efficiency.
During a meeting between GMO-Z.com RUNSYSTEM and the client at the end of October 2023, Deputy CEO Nguyen Tan Minh proudly stated: “This project is a recognition of the intelligence and creativity of the Vietnamese people, as GMO-Z.com RUNSYSTEM has contributed to a technology product now widely used in Japan. The client’s trust is a great motivation for GMO-Z.com RUNSYSTEM in general and the project members in particular to continue investing in research and process improvement, enhancing performance to ensure timely delivery, quality, and optimal value for the customer.”
Also during the visit and working session in Vietnam, the client shared that they were deeply appreciative of the project team. As members have become increasingly in sync, the product quality has significantly improved. GMO-Z.com RUNSYSTEM in general, and the V4 Project team in particular, have earned trust and credibility by consistently responding quickly to client requests and delivering products on schedule.
Despite being the company’s offshore “giant,” the project wasn’t on the nominee or voting lists for the G-AWARDS. So, the team was both surprised and overjoyed when the project name was announced in the final award category – Highest Revenue Project in the Japanese Market. This was a special recognition and an unexpected gift from the company’s leadership, honoring the tireless efforts of every member over the past year.
“If the G-AWARDS were a beauty pageant and the project criteria were the body measurements, then our V4 team would be slightly ‘oversized’.”
“I believe the project still has many areas to improve to deliver the best value to our clients. However, I’d still like to thank the management for acknowledging our team’s efforts. A special thanks to all team members across the four branches and the subsidiary in Japan for their unity in bringing the project to where it is today,” said Mr. Vinh.
In the near future, the project team will continue training and improving the quality of its workforce, building client trust, and expanding the project scale to 200 members. Wishing the V4 Project a successful completion on time, with globally standardized quality, earning customer trust as the top choice for long-term cooperation under the slogan “Trusted Digital Partner.”
