Overcoming Challenges

The project development team was part of the CRM Product team, totaling 50 members—making it one of GMO's largest-scale projects in the Vietnamese market. Initially, the project started with 35 members and peaked at 40 members during the CRM system integration phase, with support from other departments such as TIO, DX Solutions, IID, etc.

As GMO's highest-revenue project in Vietnam, it posed both opportunities and challenges for the development team. The biggest challenge was the timeline. While most similar complex projects, requiring in-depth knowledge and high expertise, typically take about a year to implement, the client requested completion in just seven months. Additionally, frequent changes in client requirements demanded significant time and human resources to deliver a high-quality and timely product.

Facing these difficulties, the team made consistent efforts to listen to the client, research new technologies and solutions, maximize the use of tools and processes, and adopt the agile methodology for effective and tightly managed execution.

Meaningful Values

Mr. Vu Viet Hoan – BA Manager of the project shared: “The CRM project for An Binh Bank is one of GMO's major projects in Vietnam. Its success has delivered great value to both the company and the client. For the client, the project helped automate their customer relationship processes, optimizing 70% of the sales team’s time. CRM implementation is always a major challenge in the financial sector, and not every bank is ready to change their mindset to embrace it. Choosing GMO as the development partner helped the client save 90% of the cost compared to using similar products from global brands. Moreover, by using the CRM system, An Binh Bank optimized costs and increased profits by hundreds of billions of VND within just seven months.”

For GMO-Z.com RUNSYSTEM, aside from finalizing and packaging the CRM into a product to sell to other enterprises, the development team also gained new experience and know-how in both CRM and banking operations. Currently, WOWCRM is the only product in Vietnam with full features tailored for the Finance – Banking sector, giving the company a strong competitive edge.

Early Achievements

The CRM project development team continuously received positive feedback, encouragement, and appreciation from An Binh Bank. The client confirmed this was the only one among their five major projects in 2023 that was completed successfully—an impressive accomplishment. An Binh Bank highly valued the dedication, creativity, and enthusiasm of the development team in particular and GMO-Z.com RUNSYSTEM in general. They expressed their desire to continue collaborating with GMO for the next phases of the project.

After the product was completed and packaged, on April 28, 2023, GMO-Z.com RUNSYSTEM’s customer relationship management platform WOWCRM was selected from among hundreds of entries to be honored in the “Outstanding Digital Transformation Platform” category at the 2023 Sao Khue Awards, organized by the Vietnam Software & IT Services Association (VINASA).

Notably, the CRM-ABB project also won the “Highest Revenue Project in Vietnam Market” award at G-Awards—GMO’s internal recognition system for outstanding teams and individuals. These remarkable achievements are a source of pride and motivation for the project team to continue striving forward.

In the future, our team hopes to take part in more large-scale projects and deliver impactful software solutions that support enterprises in their digital transformation journey,” shared Mr. Vu Viet Hoan during his speech at the New Year Party 2024.

In the near future, GMO aims to expand the coverage of the WOWCRM product across the entire banking and finance sector in Vietnam, carrying the pride of a “Made in Vietnam” product that helps Vietnamese use Vietnamese-made solutions, reduce costs, and prevent brain drain. Leveraging technological strengths and internal capabilities, WOWCRM will continue to evolve into a customer data platform (CDP), applying artificial intelligence to manage digital banking and lead the way in digital banking transformation.
